Topping out Brooklyn Court
Andium Homes and AC Mauger celebrate the topping out of Brooklyn Court.
Andium Homes' new development of 23 units of affordable housing on the Le Coin site in Ann Street, to be known as Brooklyn Court, reached a major milestone with a recent topping out ceremony.
Constructed by AC Mauger, the 23 units include seven 1 bedroom flats, fourteen 2 bedroom flats and two 3 bedroom flats that will be made available to islanders through the Affordable Housing Gateway.
The £4 million development is an 80 week build programme and has seen 40 people work on the site so far. These include a number of people recruited through the States of Jersey Back to Work scheme.
Currently work is progressing well on site and the team, led by Project Manager Carl Scott are coping well with the challenges for site access, plant management and deliveries that a town centre location brings.
The development incorporates: first floor and roof top amenity space; covered secure parking; wet room bathrooms; lift access; balconies; rain water harvesting and waste recycling facilities. The homes will also comply with modern building standards and are designed to lifetime homes standards.
The traditional topping out ceremony, which marks the final block being laid, was attended by representatives of both AC Mauger and Andium Homes.
“We’re extremely proud to have led the construction of Brooklyn Court, which will provide quality homes for islanders,” said James Joseph, Managing Director of AC Mauger. “It has been a pleasure working with Andium Homes and I look forward to the day when the first residents are able to move in and enjoy their new homes.”
“We welcome this opportunity to celebrate this significant milestone in the build process,” said David Morris, Head of Capital Projects at Andium Homes. “The project is a very important part of our stock development programme and AC Mauger have brought us to this point successfully’’.
“Work is continuing on the interior and we are looking forward to Brooklyn Court being ready to receive its first Andium Homes clients later this year.”
