Green fingers at AC Mauger Construction

AC Mauger Construction has joined forces with the St Helier in Bloom Group and the Parish of St Helier to launch a long term environmental partnership.

The partnership will involve AC Mauger staff assisting the Parish by providing the manpower for this project to enhance the Water Garden in Vallee des Vaux . The Garden is a parish-owned landscaped garden containing two small bridges over a stream and a pathway leading to benches where the flora, fauna and wildlife can be enjoyed.

With the assistance of the Parish and the St Helier in Bloom Group, AC Mauger aim to provide long term support of the area and in time introduce wildlife and appropriate planting to create an area which can be enjoyed by the general public.

“Our first actions are to carry out a green clean”, said Martin Nozedar, Contracts Director at AC Mauger Construction, “This will involve a clearance of all unwanted planting and by clearing the stream of silt our hope is to attract more aquatic life”.

Volunteers from the staff of AC Mauger will be supplied with tools and gloves for their first day of weeding, clipping and digging on Saturday 20th September 2008. “For the staff who choose to become involved in this exciting project we can promise a great day with the emphasis on fun and teamwork – we are even providing sustenance for those who intend to get stuck in!” added Mr Nozedar.

Sue Rodrigues from the St Helier in Bloom Group, commented:

“We are delighted with the support from AC Mauger in supplying the labour and enthusiasm for this initiative. The staff, in giving of their time, will make a huge contribution to this Garden Project and we feel sure that their reward will be seeing the area enjoyed by the public for many years to come.”
