Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management
Having worked with Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management on a number of small projects in their previous offices, Style Office was delighted to win the tender process to provide all their new office furniture at 37 Esplanade.
In late 2012, Collins Stewart Wealth Management (as they were then known as), an award winning investment manager, stockbroker and wealth planner based in St Helier, Jersey, moved their HQ to an adjacent BREEAM-rated office building.
With a design ideology to create a world class office environment that was bright, comfortable and productive in equal measure, the new office represented a significant financial investment for Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management and highlighted their commitment to an excellent working environment for their staff and visiting clients. “The new office is 2,300 square feet bigger than our previous one,” commented Grahame Lovett, CEO of Canaccord, “and the space is designed to be flexible which will allow for around 25 per cent growth if needed.”
Style Office was selected to supply and install all of the furniture for the new offices and following a rigorous evaluation that culminated in the provision of pilot work settings, Steelcase was specified to provide storage, seating, breakout furniture, and bench workstations, Boss Design for breakout and reception seating and Colebrook Bosson Saunders (CBS) for the monitor arms. The client areas were beautifully finished with floor to ceiling windows and glazing and were furnished with K&N Plenum K tables and the stunning Charta conference chairs. Filing capacity was maximized in the two store rooms with floor to ceiling Ecospace static shelving systems.
The furniture installation was carried out in phases over a two week period and there was a close working relationship between all contractors on site to ensure everything was completed on time and on budget.
Canaccord's IT set up has two to four monitors per workstation with some of the monitors weighing upwards of 4kg each. To accommodate this, CBS arranged a sample Flo Plus Dual arm to be delivered and added to the Steelcase’s pilot FrameOne bench. The FrameOne bench has an integral central rail and Style Office’s Sally Harbut and Mark Bennett of CBS worked with the design team to create a special bracket so that the Flo Plus Dual arm could be attached to the rail which gave the client flexibility in where the arms were located and also the ability to fix arms to workstations without drilling into the desktop. For the lighter monitors, standard Flo arms were specified with the same, but modified, special bracket.
“Like most Wealth Management and Stock broking businesses, information is key to our users. This effectively means that the screens that our users sit in front of are very important to us. With the help of Style Office we ran a few pilots to help chose a suitable monitor arm(s) that would support a combination of two to four screens. We’ve been really pleased with the Flo Plus Dual arms mounted to the central desk rail, as it allows for easy adjustment and movement whilst keeping the desk free and allowing for communication between the desks.” Nigel Mather, Head of IT Offshore at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management.
