States of Jersey Police

Style Office were delighted to be selected to work with Rob Moy and Barry Taylor of States of Jersey Police and Mike Richardson of IBI Group on the state-of-the-art, five-storey and 7,200sqm new police headquarters.

Having supplied furniture to the States of Jersey for over 10 years and on being reselected in 2015 to continue this relationship as a preferred supplier, Style Office entered into the tender selection process, demonstrating experience in reducing capital expenditure and ongoing running costs, improving workflow efficiency and improving the population of space in office environments.

Upon successful selection from the tender process, Style Office were charged with the supply of all furniture and fittings to the new headquarters. With the aim being to deliver best value to the States of Jersey and to create an interconnected workplace that connects people to other people, to information, to their tools and to the culture of the States of Jersey Police.

Style Office worked closely with Project Manager Rob Moy and Architect Mike Richardson over the following months to assess the maximum numbers that could be accommodated in the building with the introduction of more open plan work space, desk sharing, flexible meeting space and consolidation of storage.

Sally Harbut of Style Office took full accountability for all elements in the furniture supply chain and held responsibility to deliver the furniture project on time and on budget, as the single point of contact, supported by Installations Manager Ian O’Brien and the Style Office installations team.

“We wanted to create a workplace that balanced efficiency and effectiveness and made future changes easier” says Sally Harbut. "By specifying a small number of standard workspaces we can help simplify work environment changes. The workspaces matched the different work styles within the departments from fixed, processing desks to agile working, teams with collaborative needs and teams working individually. Each floor has a variety of these different work settings and include amenity and group spaces so should the Police need to reconfigure, basically everything people need is already there” says Sally.
